First Trailer for Anaconda Remake Starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Sony Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for the remake of Anaconda, starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd. The studio previously announced that the film will be released on Christmas Day next year. In the trailer, Rudd’s character suggests remaking Anaconda “in an indie style,” unaware that blood will be spilled in the jungle.

The remake’s story follows a group of middle-aged friends who, facing a midlife crisis, head into the jungle to recreate a beloved film from their youth—only to encounter giant snakes and ruthless criminals. Tom Gormican (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent) wrote the screenplay with Kevin Etten and also directs the film.

The original 1997 film starred Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, Eric Stoltz, Owen Wilson, Kari Wuhrer, and Jonathan Hyde. It told the story of a documentary crew in the Amazon who cross paths with a hunter obsessed with capturing a legendary anaconda. That film grossed $136 million worldwide and spawned four sequels.

The Anaconda remake is set to be released on December 25, 2025.
